Thank you for visiting Ongoing Conversion!
Who is “Us”?
I am Bryan Koen, and I love being Catholic! It wasn’t always this way, though. By the Grace of God, I am a convert to the faith. I came into the Church, April 11, 1998.
I work in IT as a Middleware Administrator. My hobbies include family history, listening to music, and drinking craft beer, and the occasional bourbon.
My wife, Cara, who may stop in from time to time, is a “cradle” Catholic. She has taught me so much about how to live my faith. Together, we work every day to make sure each other gets into heaven.
Cara works for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, to support and market the nearby Catholic schools. She enjoys knitting and hanging out with friends and family.
We have been blessed with four children, three boys, and a girl. Being an only child, I would never have thought that I would have such a large family. But, I wouldn’t change it for anything. Sure, our house is a bit crazy at times, but that’s what makes it worthwhile.
Ethan is our oldest and is a student at the University of Missouri (where I went). He is studying computer science, just like I did. When he’s not in a class, you might see him skating around Columbia, MO, on his skateboard.
Spencer is the next in line and is a freshman at Chaminade College Prep School, here in St. Louis. He enjoys playing lacrosse and soccer for the Red Devils. He wants to study film and dabbles with video production.
Desmond is our third son and is still in grade school at our parish school, St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, in Florissant, Missouri. He enjoys playing baseball and Fortnite (of course!). He might be the biggest sports fan in the house. He keeps us all up to date with how the Cardinals and Blues are doing.
The Baby and Princess of the family is Greta. She’s also at St. Rose, enjoying first grade and playing soccer. She is also involved with Girl Scouts.
What to expect
Lately, I feel a calling to share my faith with the world. I want to share my experiences and trials. I want to learn more about this vibrant and beautiful religion of ours. I hope I can challenge you to think about the Church in a different way, a way that helps you to an “Ongoing Conversion.”
Thanks again for visiting!
